While the resort is only open from late November to early April, it boasts over 300 sunshine days per year. About 120 inches of fresh powder hit the resort annually but there is no shortage of snow on the slopes—as they make about 75% of their snow.  

Four chairlifts service the 860 foot vertical drop with the longest run spanning a short but respectable 3000 feet. It’s odd to think that people are enjoying Vegas’ numerous golf courses while legitimate ski resort is in full operation on 30 minutes away.

Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort offers a great range of services from ski lessons to an elaborate snowboard park. Lessons are available in half-day packages or vegas2the resort’s sponsored package: Easy as 1, 2, 3. 

For less than $200, a rider will gets a four day lesson which gets more in-depth as the skier/snowboarder becomes more confident with their newly acquired skills. That price includes a lift ticket. Darkside is an extreme park complete with a half pipe, limbo, grinding rails and 22 other terrain features. And, for the spur of the moment Vegas skiers, the park offers a full line of rentable equipment.
