Canyons Ski Resort - Park City, Utah Hot

Canyons UTahThe famed ski destination of Park City boasts three distinct ski resorts, one of which is Canyons Ski Resort, the largest ski area in Utah with over 4,000 skiable acres of terrain.

Being so large allows Canyons to offer one of the widest arrays of snow activities in the country; everything up to, and including heli-skiing. Alpine skiing and snowboarding are just the tip of the iceberg at Canyons where you can go dog sledding or even take a horse-drawn sleigh ride in the powdered snow.

More standard recreation includes guided snowshoeing and snowmobile tours, cross-country skiing and lessons at the Canyons’ Ski and Snowboard School

The natural terrain at Canyons also provides five bowls, six natural halfpipes and a terrain park for the more adventurous skiers and boarders.

Just when it seemed like Canyons had it all, major improvements began to be implemented on the mountain in the summer of 2010. The capital improvement project has already added a heated “bubble” chairlift, a snowmaking machine and a 20 million-gallon reservoir and 300 more skiable acres on Iron Mountain. Other changes were also made as part of Phase I of the Canyons’ overall project, which is expected to be completed over the next few years.

The total Canyons’ experience is right at the fingertips of all travelers, with easy highway access just 30 miles away from Salt Lake City in the beautiful destination location of Park City.
