Roxy Chickadee Jam: Take Your Shot At the Pros

chickadeeRoxy's Chickadee Jam is the qualifying competition for the Roxy Chicken JamRoxy snowboarding company is hosting the 3rd annual Roxy Chickadee Jam on March 12th and 13th, 2011. The all-girls event will be held in Vancouver, BC at Grouse Mountain ski resort.

This year’s event is bigger and better than ever. It boasts over $8,000 in cash prizes and serves as the Canadian qualifier for the Roxy Chicken Jam. The Chicken Jam is widely renown as one of the most esteemed women’s snow boarding event in the industry.

The event is conducted in a casual, jam style format. Competitors will spend the day showing off their best stuff as judges walk the course, picking their favorite boarders.  While many competitors will win cash prizes, the winner takes home a lucrative $3000 prize and earns herself an all expense paid trip to the Roxy Chicken Jam.

The Chicken Jam takes place in Mammoth, CA March 23rd-27th of 2011. The winner of the Chickadee Jam will have their work cut out for them—the Chicken Jam boasts some of the top female slopestyle riders in the world.

A new touch at the 2011 Chickadee Jam is the mascot rail jam—inspired by the Chicken Jam mascot half-pipe competition. Riders show up dressed in a costume and shred the rail jam. This part of the competition is open to men or women and offers a cash prize of $500.

“We are excited to be returning to Grouse Mountain for the Roxy Chickadee Jam,” said Kelly Etsell, of Roxy Canada. “In 2009 we saw some incredible talent from the girls and awarded PRO rider Marie Andree Racine a spot on our Canadian Roxy snow team. The opportunities are there for girls who are looking to fast track their snowboarding careers. Riders can expect to have a blast at this event especially with the Mascot Rail Jam now in the mix!”

Registration for the Roxy Chickadee Jam is on a first come, first serve basis. If you’re interested, hurry up and register at roxy.com/chickadeejam. Only the first 35 registrations are accepted.
