Robert Vietze Kicked off Ski Team Hot

Robert Sandy VietzeAn 18-year-old skiier  was dismissed from the U.S. Ski Team's for allegedly getting drunk and urinating on a young passenger aboard a Jet Blue red-eye flight.

Robert “Sandy” Vietze, of Warren, Vt., was detained at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport on Wednesday morning after his flight for allegedly urinating on an 11-year-old girl.

Vietze admitted he had consumed several alcoholic beverages. Regarding the incident, Vietze  added, 'I was drunk, and I did not realize I was doing it.'

"Based on the information we have, Sandy Vietze is in violation of the USSA code of conduct and team agreement, and has been dismissed from the team," U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association Executive Vice President of Athletics Luke Bodensteiner said.

As a result of the incident, he now faces a federal misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure. The charge carries a maximum fine of $1,000 and a possibility of up to a year in jail.

This shocking development could certainly prove to be devastating to Vietze’s career. He was only just nominated to the development team this spring after excelling as an Alpine skier at the Green Mountain Valley School, in Waitsfield, Vermont.
