Mount Snow Raises More Than $5000 For Irene Relief

Mount Snow's Golden ChairThe West Dover, Vermont ski resort's Oktobrewfest helped raise more than $5000 to benefit Hurricen Irene recovery efforts.

The event, which was called Mount Snow Oktoberfest in previous years, was rebranded as Oktobrefest after Hurricane Irene spoiled plans the Mount Snow Brewers Festival.  To make up for the cancelled Brewers Festival, Mount Snow invited additional breweries to the event to raise money for relief efforts.  Mount Snow offered guests a chance to win the "Golden Chair" from the Grand Summit Express lift (cleverly turned into a makeshift swing) in a raffle to raise money for Hurrican Irene relief.  The winner of the raffle will be drawn in early winter on the grand opening of the Bluebird Express, Mount Snow's new chairlift.

Raffle tickets are still available for purchase on  for $5.00 each.  The golden chair mounted on a timber frame will be delivered to a location of the winner's choice within 150 miles of Mount Snow.
