Board Shape

The Fortress Snowboard is Burton's high end women's board, designed for freestyle and all-mountain riding by long time Burton pro rider Kelly Clark. It has been specially crafted in three lengths (147, 151, and 154) to be very light and responsive.

Kelly Clark's Fortress Snowboard

This board was designed for and by Kelly for mind-reading responsiveness and performance on big terrain with ice, crud, powder, steeps, and varied terrain. "This is a board that's gonna be there for you when you need it to be," says Kelly Clark. "The Fortress is ideal if you want to take your riding to the next level. If you're looking to progress your riding, this is the board that you want."

The Women’s Fortress Snowboard was at least seven years in development to get Clark exactly the board she needed to compete and to shred every aspect of the mountain. It is known for its silky smooth handling abilities, including the patented Smooth Ride technology which reduces fatique and Infinite Ride technology, which ensures a pre-broken in performance; and slimlined minimized Slimrail sidewalls with Frostbike Edges that reduce weight without sacrificing edge hold or strength.

Fortress Snowboard Design

The board design progressed as the materials progressed. With Burton's advanced use of material and design integration, every aspect of the board is specifically created for certain purposes, all lending to one final overall performance design.

The Fortress features a sintered base with extra absorbent pores for ultra-durability. There's an explosive pop component in both tip and tail, camber underfoot for carving control and power, and Pro Tip with tapered tip and tail thickness to shave resistance and weight.

It features a mix of carbon rails, a Vaporskin carbon-based top sheet, cross-matched wood core, torsional stiffness underfoot transitioning to stabilizing zones, with energized pop equalized in the tip and tail. The graphics are custom designed by artist Bobbi Jo Latsky.

Who Should Ride the Fortress Snowboard?

It is a competition level board that will take your riding to the next level, but is not necessarily ideal for beginners.
